Lille is one of the most accessible cities in Northern Europe, ideally located at the crossroads of France, Belgium, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
Thanks to its two main railway stations, Lille Europe and Lille Flandres, the city is very well connected by high-speed train to major European hubs. Lille can be reached directly or with easy connections from Paris, Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, Brussels, London, Amsterdam and several other cities.

Lille Grand Palais, the congress venue, is conveniently located within walking distance of the city centre and the main railway stations. The venue can be reached on foot, by public transport, by taxi or by car, and offers dedicated access options for visitors with reduced mobility.

BY TRAIN
Travelling by train is one of the easiest ways to reach Lille. The city has two central railway stations:
Lille Europe Station: mainly served by international and high-speed trains, including Eurostar and TGV connections.
Lille Flandres Station: served by regional and national train connections, including services to and from Paris and other French cities. Both stations are located close to the city centre and within easy reach of Lille Grand Palais. Participants arriving at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport can take a direct train connection to Lille, with journey times of around one hour depending on the selected service. Tickets and updated timetables are available through SNCF Connect.

BY AIR
The closest airport is Lille-Lesquin Airport, located approximately 10 km from the city centre. Shuttle and public transport options connect the airport with central Lille. International participants may also consider flying to:

  • Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, with direct train connections to Lille
  • Brussels Airport, with train or shuttle connections to Lille
  • Brussels South Charleroi Airport, with shuttle connections to Lille

For the best accommodation options during EuGMS 2026, participants are invited to visit the dedicated Accommodation page of the congress website.

Lille has an efficient public transport network including metro, tram and bus services. The metro system connects the main areas of the city and is a practical option for moving between hotels, stations, the city centre and the congress venue.
Lille is also a very walkable city. Many hotels, restaurants, shopping streets and cultural attractions are located within a compact central area.

Participants are encouraged to:

  • Book train tickets in advance, especially for high-speed and international connections.
  • Allow sufficient connection time when travelling via airports and railway stations.
  • Check whether their train arrives at Lille Europe or Lille Flandres, as both stations are central but not identical.
  • Use official transport websites and apps for the latest schedules and ticket availability.
